Musical Theatre Trips for 2018.....Strictly Ballroom and Tina

So 2018 will be here before we know it! And already two fabulous new musicals have caught my attention so I thought lets get something organised to look forward to in the new year! I am organising tickets now as I type this!

Strictly Ballroom The Musical is the uplifting story that inspired the world to dance. Based on Baz Luhrmann’s multi award-winning movie Strictly Ballroom, the first instalment from the acclaimed Red Curtain Trilogy, the musical production is a kaleidoscope of colour and fun.

When maverick championship ballroom dancer Scott defies all the rules of competition to follow his heart, he teams up with left-footed partner Fran to win the Pan Pacifics his way. Featuring the film’s classic break-into-song numbers such as Love is in the Air, Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps and Time After Time alongside electrifying new songs from a host of internationally acclaimed artists. It opens mid March 2018 at the Piccadilly Theatre, London.

TINA - The Tina Turner Musical

From humble beginnings in Nutbush, Tennessee, to her transformation into the global Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Tina Turner didn’t just break the rules, she rewrote them. This new stage musical, presented in association with Tina Turner herself, reveals the untold story of a woman who dared to defy the bounds of her age, gender and race.

One of the world’s best-selling artists of all time, Tina Turner has won 11 Grammy Awards and her live shows have been seen by millions, with more concert tickets sold than any other solo performer in music history.

Featuring her much-loved songs, TINA, The Tina Turner Musical is written by Olivier Award-winning playwright Katori Hall and directed by the internationally acclaimed Phyllida Lloyd. This also opens mid March 2018, at the Aldwych Theatre, London.
